Thurber for the appointment of a representative of Vermont’s dairy industry who is also a dairy farmer, and Joseph W. Nelson for the appointment of a representative of the Vermont forest industry who is also a forester as designated in The Working Lands Enterprise Initiative (Act 142).
The Working Lands Enterprise Board announces the availability of $40,000 in grant funds for investment into VT poultry processing projects. The poultry processing funds are the proceeds from the sale of the state owned mobile poultry processing unit to be reinvested in VT’s poultry processing sector. Applications received must be for the construction of a mobile or fixed, commercially inspected (state or federal) poultry slaughter and/or processing facility.

MONTPELIER – Gov. Peter Shumlin, Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross, Forest, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Michael Snyder and the Working Lands Enterprise Board today announced the first round of grant recipients from the “Enterprise Investment Area” of the Working Lands Enterprise Fund, with almost $220,000 awarded to 20 grantees representing sectors across agriculture, forestry and forest products.
