Working Lands Enterprise Board Announces Program Impacts on Vermont’s Economy and Communities

Since its inception in 2012, the Working Lands Enterprise Board (WLEB) has invested over $3.1 million dollars in 112 projects impacting every county of the state, leveraging just under $5 million in additional funds. Impacts to date include:
· 106 new jobs created by working lands grantees
· A $12 million+ increase in gross income across all working lands grantees
The Working Lands Fiscal Year 2015 Annual Report is now available! The report was released today to the Legislature, in a 2 hour presentation featuring an overview of the program, outcomes to date, testimonials from four working lands grant recipients, as well as a deep dive on forestry committee work completed in the past year.
Today, the Working Lands Enterprise Board (WLEB) is happy to announce the opening of this year’s grant cycle and the availability of approximately $550,000 in grants funds for the 2016 program year. These grants will fund forestry and agriculture projects that enhance Vermont’s communities, economy and culture. The applicant guide can be found online at http://workinglands.vermont.gov/apply/rfp.
The Working Lands Enterprise Board (WLEB) is pleased to announce the availability of over $500,000 in grant funds for the 2016 program year. The application period will open on October 1, 2015, with grants targeting essential, catalytic investments in Vermont’s farm and forest economy. Grants will be available to Vermont agriculture and forest sector businesses, as well as service providers that provide the critical technical assistance needed for business growth.
